Well, I feel I'm qualified to post now :-) As of yesterday I am now the proud owner of a 1987 LS650H (H?), 10000 miles, blue(purple?), 4" risers with drag bars (original?). First impression, ouch! my friends CBR dosen't wad me up this much (I'm about 6'1"), hit the starter clunk, whir whir, thump thump thump..... AHHHH worth a little pain. First ride, steering seems heavy, probably due to more rake than I'm used to (Honda GL500 Silverwing), seems unstable in the corners (?), but all around tons of fun.
I've put about 75 miles on the bike today and learned a few things, if I slide my big a** back to almost the back edge of the front seat my legs quit yelling at me and the instability in the corners goes away(?), the heavy steering has got to be a combination of the drag bar and the rake but feels more precise once you get used to it.
It's gonna take some geting used to, I swear if Suzuki put that motor in an Intruder frame I'd be the first in line! (or how about an 800cc single in an Intruder frame. Hmmm...)
Still grinning
